SAN DIEGO, October 21, 2009–Wunderman pulled in a trio of ECHO Awards at the DMA Awards Gala presided over by DMA president John Greco and television personality Jay Leno. The International ECHO Awards honor the highest achievements in direct marketing and is the oldest award in the industry.
Wunderman received a Silver ECHO for Earth in Your Hands, a not-for-profit interactive campaign to support the WWF’s environmental awareness efforts. The augmented reality piece was created by Wunderman Sydney. Melbourne was a Finalist for its Recycled Mail Pack done on behalf of Origin in the Communications and Utilities category.
Wunderman demonstrated its strength in automotive marketing with Germany capturing Bronze for This is Now: Be Part of It! for Ford and mentioned as a Leader for Black or White? for Land Rover. Copenhagen was recognized as a Finalist for Ford Fiesta Opening. New York also took home a Bronze ECHO for Fun with Keywords created for Microsoft adCenter.
Washington D.C.-based RTCRM was among the Finalists in Pharma for its Nicorette White Ice Campaign (Glaxo Smith Kline).
The Diamond Award (ECHO’s highest honor) went to Tourism Queensland for Best Job in the World. The same highly publicized campaign also took home top honors from the Cannes Lions Direct jury which was presided over by Wunderman’s David Sable.
The ECHO Awards are determined after three rounds of judging by an international body. Awards are assessed after being scrutinized for strategy, execution, and results.
